Cactus Country Food Menu
This is the latest version of Cactus Country's food menu for the Mexican style café. The background design refers to the website design of Cactus Country. As I didn't have access to any existing files of the website construction I painted the same style cacti as on the website digitally and built a replicate of the design from scratch. However I made the apperance of the wood panels a hint brighter. The menu consists of a cover page and a clear structured one-pager with our choice of meals.
Cactus Country Drinks Menu
This is the latest version of Cactus Country's drinks menu for the Mexican style café. There has been many changes and updates over the past few months, yet we are proud to present our nice and broad range of coffee and cold drink refreshments in a simple one-pager with a clear layout. The background design just as in the food menu refers to the website design of Cactus Country.
Cactus Country Road Drive Way Signs
The road from the highway entrance to the park entrance of Cactus Country is about one kilometer. To prepare and entertain our visitors on the way, we are planning to set up a range of signs along the path.
Originally the plan was to create the images digitally and have them printed on large signs in the dimensions of 2m x 1.2m. This plan has changed as we found hand-painted signage will suit our theme better. The reproducable aspect of digital design might be advantegous, however a print will never have the same charme, value and appearance as a handpainted original. I'm excited how the end-product will turn out.
Here's a little insight of the early designs and examples for the driveway signs. As these pictures will probably not get into print, at least on this blog you can get a glimpse of our first ideas. Our original plan was a comic style with a focus on our Cactus Country mascot. To create these images I worked in a similar process as in traditional animation creation, with a mix of hand-drawn outlines, digital painting and reusable elements.
Chili Tuesday Poster
Poster design for promotion of our special Chili Tuesdays which includes garden entry and lunch. As I only had my old very first bamboo graphic tablet with me when I came to Cactus Country, the digital painting of the chili character in this poster took me quite some patience. For the poster design I worked with a mix of photographic and digitally created elements, including my very first photoshoot of our food offer.
